Now there is no need to replace your old radiology equipment
If a radiologist wants to continue with his old radiology equipment then he should combine it with the computed radiography (CR) technology. You are required to put CR as a connecting medium between older radiography versions and the latest updated ones; the hardware used is almost similar but the conventional film that was used to capture images is changed with an imaging plate. Ingredient of this imaging plate is photostimulatable phosphor, which is a chemical that responds to X-rays. It is the plate which is enclosed inside a cassette, and placed over or under the area of the body that is to be examined as X-rays pass through the same. This technique is useful in case of X-rays, scanning etc.
Digital mammography- needs trained radiologist to get the better result
If a cancer patient needs proper treatment then doctors, oncologists, and specialists form treatment teams to deal with severe condition. In these circumstances integration of digital imaging with a patient's electronic medical record is a suitable resource for advanced diagnostic imaging. It is very necessary that a patient should approach a talented and loyal radiologist that can perform the task of digital mammography in an efficient manner. Otherwise he can also manipulate the images and then report the results and distribute a report instantly to the patient's entire healthcare team. This will leads to the wrong treatment of the patient.

Radiology schools can make you familiar with radiological therapy
There is another name for this course is radiology which is concerned with the diagnostic imaging of various parts of the anatomy, using a variety of different techniques and devices. There are various radiology schools which offer courses to deal with the techniques such as CT scanning (Computerized tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and radiological therapy. A person who wants to specialize in this field can take a 1-year certificate program on top of their radiography diploma.
In the basic course, students will learn the basics of radiography. Such basics are concerned with anatomy and physiology, patient management, imaging processes, radiation protection, radiobiology, pathology and radiation physics.

Diagnostic mammography- a boon for patients of breast cancer
• When there is lump found under the arm or in the breast
• There may be changes found in skin like redness, thickening etc.
• When there is any area of breast found to be thickening suddenly.
• There may be frequent changes in nipple like retraction, erosion, itching etc.
• When a women has to face the problem regarding the size of the breast increasing frequently.
• It is also a matter of concern for a woman whose nipple gets discharged unexpectedly.
There is another situation under which doctor recommends such treatment for females who have been found with any abnormality on their screening mammogram. Besides all the above circumstances it is advisable for a woman following radiation therapy after lumpectomy for the first seven years to go for diagnostic mammography.
There is a specific procedure for this treatment as two standard breast images are taken as full size with the craniocaudal or CC which is like top-to-bottom picture. On the other hand other procedure involves the side-to-side view under mediolateral oblique or MLO.

PET scanning- demonstrate functions of tissue cells
It is basically recommended by the doctors to detect the symptoms of serious diseases such as-
• In detecting the symptoms of cancer and determining the expanse of spread of the tumor cells in the entire body of a human being.
• It also helps in noticing the functioning of the human brain and the heart along with analyzing the quality of blood flowing across these organs. It further supports to evaluate and study the effects of myocardial infarction and ischemia on the patient after cardiac surgery is being done.
• One more thing to notice is that imaging technology of this device is also used to make out the management protocol for various brain abnormalities, central nervous disorders and seizures.
You should be familiar with the philosophy of PET scanning as this imaging technique contains a radioactive material called the radiotracer is injected into the body, which accumulates around the organ which is under examination. It is the concentration of the radioactive material which depends upon the metabolic activity, and at last this process supports in detecting the location of tumor in the body.
CT scan equipment- required to diagnose the patient
Computerized Tomography is the technology that enables the scan work efficiently. It is the technique to be used to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and conditions. This procedure is also used as a preventative measure taken by patients or doctors to check for abnormalities occur inside the human body.
This technique is usually adopted by the doctors because it takes very less time to examine the condition of the patient. It is completely painless and moreover it takes about five to ten minutes to get over in most of the cases. In rare cases some scans last up to 30 minutes in length and as the CT scan equipment is getting advanced day by day so the time limit is reducing simultaneously.

Importance of Diagnostic Mammography
I have gone through several studies and have observed that every women crossing the age of 40 years should go through the mammography tests to avoid any risk of breast cancer. Diagnostic mammography is that much important.
At homes, women can first analyse themselves before going for the check-up. Self-examinations may include finding out is there any lump found near the breast or under arms. If in any case found the lump or any other symptom, one needs to move frequently to hospital for required tests.
Diagnostic mammography workstation can be easily found in well-known hospitals which is specially designed for providing x-ray image showing any changes in breast size, color etc. Diagnostic mammography viewers are available in two different types - screening mammograms and the diagnostic mammograms.
Both viewers work differently and provide images of breast from different angles to offer best possible view. And such views help the radiologist to go through the tests clearly before reaching to any consequence. Hence, it can be said that diagnostic mammography has been helping the society a lot to get rid of breast cancer.

Diagnostic Mammography – Needs Extra Care and Support
Screening mammograms screen apparently normal breasts for breast area tumor. Two standard views are taken of the correct breast area and two of the left breast - a total of four views per patient. One view is used from above, the so-called cardio-caudal view; the other is taken from the side, the lateral view. In each view, it is important to visualize the entire breast. The radiologist or mammography reading your screening mammogram might recommend a diagnostic mammogram.
Usually, in diagnostic mammography, mammograms consists of a one-sided (right or left) mammogram taken with special views to enable the mammography to determine whether the abnormality that was seen on the screening film is suspicious enough to warrant a biopsy. The mammography reading the screening mammogram frequently will indicate what additional studies should be done to further evaluate the screening abnormality.
If you are asked to return to extra studies, then there is nothing to worry about, it never means that you have breast area tumor. It only means that your mammographer is just being extra careful for you. Mostly repeated diagnostic mammography doesn’t reveal tumor. I’ll advice you to read that sentence twice. If you are known as back to have a diagnostic mammogram, don't panic. Extra studies are often ordered simply to clarify your screening mammogram-for example, if the entire breast area was not visualized in one or both views.
Brain Tumor Diagnosis- Think Differently!
In the summer of 2008, a brain tumor was diagnosed as being the cause of the 'kicking leg' effect, in my sister. To say we were both shell-shocked would be an understatement. When someone tells you, you have a brain tumor; the thought which automatically strikes into mind is that you are going to die.
After the initial shock had subsided a little, we started to think positively. We made an appointment with the neurosurgeon and my first question to him was, "how much pain will my sister have to experience?" His answer surprised me, "No pain", he said. We both felt that brain tumor diagnosis is not going to mean the end of the world after all.
And so it proved. The 5-hour operation was a completed success. Within 10 days my sister came back to home and the next day she was working on her computer as earlier she used to do. I tried to stop her but she wanted to do it, saying she was making herself comfortable and normal.
So although it's a very scary thing to be told, a brain tumor diagnosis is not the end of world. One is just needed to have patience, strong will power and think differently.

Radiotherapy for Breast Cancer – Some Important Facts
In modern times, almost every field has been developed a lot. And in the field of medical sciences, several treatments are developed to cure several serious diseases. Moreover, radiotherapy is one of those latest treatments. This therapy treats breast cancer by using powerful radiations to destroy the affected cells and harms as little as possible to normal tissues or cells.
Radiotherapy for breast cancer is mostly used by radiotherapists after breast cancer surgery. With this treatment, it becomes easier for doctors to remove the affected part of breasts. One important thing is that this therapy ca be used after or without any earlier breast surgery.
Radiotherapy treatment is normally comprised of series of daily sessions. Patients are needed to visit to hospital every day specified by doctors. Treatment involves just 10-15minutes and may lass for 3-6 weeks.
During the procedure of radiotherapy for breast cancer, one may notice certain side effects like tiredness and soreness but they disappear after complete treatment. Doctor usually discusses side effects and related changes with patients to make them comfortable. External radiotherapy is safe for children and other people living with the patient.
In the treatment, affected part gets removed without affecting normal tissues or lymph nodes in breast. Whole breast area including underarm, collar bone area and breast bone area are covered under the treatment of radiotherapy for breast cancer. One is just needed to go through a recognized hospital and doctors for better results.

Diagnostic mammography – Features & Type of Views
Breast cancer is one such severe disease which if not diagnosed and treated on time can put end to one’s life. And this is really very impressive to note that Diagnostic mammography have been developed as a treatment therapy for women suffering from breast cancer.
Diagnostic mammography can be defined as breasts x-ray exam which is performed to detect breast abnormality through physical exam or via screening mammography. One should now that Diagnostic mammography is quite different from the screening mammography. In diagnostic, additional views are usually taken of breasts but in the case of screening just two views.
Features of Diagnostic mammography are:
• Main objective is to find out exact location and size of breast abnormality.
• It takes image of abnormality occurring in lymph nodes as well as surrounding tissue.
• Most of the times, this mammography finds abnormality to be non-cancerous.
There are several typical views related to diagnostic mammograms. Some important ones are:
• MLO or medio lateral oblique view
• CC or cranio-caudal view
• supplemental views
• Spot compression
• Magnification views
Thus, all these views help radiologist to diagnose the cancer areas properly so that they can move further in this direction. Hence, Diagnostic mammography is very important x-ray exam.

Radiotherapy for Breast Cancer – A Bliss
For me, it was the worst moment when I was being told about one of my friends who had cancer. The radiotherapy treatment was suggested by the doctor to her. Having been there it was shocking for me. But, I was to be very patient and strong for the sake of my friend.
Her treatment regime was consisting of four types of treatments which include FEC chemo etc. And, one treatment was four weeks of radiotherapy treatment.
Four weeks of radiotherapy for breast cancer was treated her like a job. She used to go to the hospital at allotted time every day. The treatments really had a fantastic set up in hospitals for radiotherapy patients. A special car park was there next to the unit for radiotherapy patients’ where they are guaranteed a space.
The actual treatment of radiotherapy ended in a few minutes and according to her it was as painless and quite relaxing as well. It depends from patient to patient because for some people, the treatment is very tiring and for some it is quite relaxing.
What I have observed while going with her during radiotherapy for breast cancer treatment that if someone is treated with chemo first then the perception of tiredness is changed! The visit to hospital regularly is a bit of a bind otherwise the mental trick to over come this is great.

Radiology equipment that never goes obsolete
CR basically acts as a bridge between conventional and newer radiography technologies to give medical professionals the edge of and upgrade to treat patients in a better manner, all the while ensuring that there are no problems on the monetary front. The technique involves an imaging plate that has photostimulatable phosphor as one of its constituents, the specialty of this chemical being that it can respond to X-rays and produce images. Conventional film is the only aspect that is taken out by implementing CR, since the rest of the radiology equipment remains more or less the same.
The results, however, are much better compared to older technology, and medicals institutions are sure to get a significant boost in their success rate without having to risk a large sum of investment, thus making CR the dream package for all kinds of medical operations.

Innovation allows radiology equipment to produce digital images
However, thanks to a new innovation in the field of radiology, equipments can now actually allow doctors to take digital images that can be sent anywhere in the world to take opinion of doctors and give the appropriate diagnosis for treating the problem in the right manner. Not only is this a very effective means of ensuring that patients are given the best medical attention, it is also a very cost effective means of archiving case histories for future references. What's more, the conversion procedure is also very easy, since all that is needed is to install PACS software using regular PCs, and regular radiology imaging can transform into the digital format without any complications. Truly a remarkable feat that is going to forever change the course of medical sciences for the better.

Portability in radiology equipment : A boon to medical practices
First, talking about the 'patients not able to visit doctors' part, there is a complete range of mobile/portable radiology equipment that can be used to be taken to patient's home and have proper diagnosis in case the patient is unable to come to the doctor for any reason. Talking about the role on the internet, if the piece of equipment is connected to the web via a laptop, information in any form can be instantly transferred to the medical premises for getting an on the spot opinion on the patient's condition, saving valuable time. Looks like medical science has certainly improved by leaps and bounds, much to the delight of medical professionals as well as patients.

Why is CT scan equipment quality so crucial
As you know, every medical procedure has its risks involved, and a similar case is with CT scans, where a small malfunction in the equipment can do a great deal of damage to the patient who’s body is being scanned, leading to unknown repercussions that can easily be fatal. Hence, it is very important that any hospital or medical facility intending on buying CT scan equipment should validate its authenticity and quality as being top notch, since a lot of lives are dependant on what the scan results will show. If these are flawed, incorrect diagnosis can further complicate the problem. However, thanks to the numerous choices available, one can now easily study the options at hand and choose the one that best suits the purpose

Radiology equipment - The deciding factor for an accurate diagnosis
Radiology, one of the most advanced domains of medical science in the recent times, as well as the most accurate way of finding out irregularities within the human body. It is no doubt that doctors specializing in this domain need to have sound knowledge of the human anatomy for accurate diagnosis of the patient's condition. However, what is unknown to the outside world is that the technologies used to get this information is what does a majority of the job.
Not taking anything away from the brilliant minds that go to the trouble of researching and finding out the problems in a patient, radiology equipment is often the major factor in deciding the extent of accuracy to which a disease or irregularity inside the human body can be identified. Hence, it is extremely important to know what to look forward to while purchasing machines related to this science. This blog is dedicated to this purpose, and would impart knowledge regarding this dynamic field, and how you can get the very best equipment to give unmatched technological leverage to yourself/a client.
